Now in its 21st year, the Costa Offshore World Championship presented by Continental Tire is the largest international offshore fishing tournament series in the world. The competitors represent an international group of tournament teams that have won qualifying events around the globe, competing in a demanding IGFA angling and tackle rules format requiring great skill to convert the bites into catches. At the OWC, anglers spend four days fishing aboard Costa Rica’s top game boats targeting marlin, sailfish, tuna and dorado. The Costa Offshore World Championship presented by Continental Tire stands alone as the most exclusive and coveted title in all of tournament fishing.
2023 Season Details
Similar to The Olympics, “Offshore World Championship” doesn’t focus solely on the competition itself, but presents a 360-degree view of this global event: the teams, anglers, species, judges, fans, and destination. In this four-part series, human interest stories, species profiles, rules explainers and fishing strategy breakdowns are mixed in with the intense competition, straight-from-the-cockpit fishing action and leaderboard changes.
