Orlando, Fla. — On Sept. 10, the wake industry will collectively join forces to celebrate the past 365 days in wake, at WAKEBOARDING magazine’s Wake Awards. Each year the best riders and the top industry heads descend upon Orlando for the Surf Expo, with the legendary ceremony opening the weekend’s festivities.

A staple in the sport as the biggest night in wake, the Wake Awards have crowned the most elite riders with awards that not only give praise to the men and women who put their bodies on the line, but also adds incentive for all wake sports to flourish and progress.

“Each year the Wake Awards bring everyone out to celebrate accomplishments, have fun with friends and hand out some hardware in the process,” said Shawn Perry, editor-in-chief of WAKEBOARDING magazine. “Obviously, this year has been exciting and heavy for the entire sport and we are thrilled that everyone here at WAKEBOARDING magazine can put together this event and give back to the sport.”

Some of the awards given are Best Wakeboarder, Best Women’s Wakeboarder and Best Rail Rider, with past winners including Harley Clifford, Meagan Ethell and Graeme Burress.

Year after year the Wake Awards gives back to the riders who make the sport so awesome, and 2015 will be no different.  The event is free to the public, and the first 40 guests through the awards’ doors will receive a free SP Gadgets P.O.V. Unicase Elite.  The awards are held at the Surf Expo, Room S320, at the Orange County Convention Center.

The Wake Lounge, presented by JL Audio, is an added benefit to guests that includes interactive games and video viewing.

Sponsors for the Wake Awards include Malibu Boats, Indmar, Surf Expo, WSIA, JL Audio, Acme Marine, Sesitec System 2.0, Rockford Fosgate, SP Gadgets, PTM Gadgets by Protomet and WAKEBOARDING magazine.
