New York, N.Y. — Bonnier Corp. CEO Terry Snow announced today the promotion of Steven Grune to Vice President, Group Publisher of Bonnier’s Technology Group. Grune succeeds Gregg Hano, who was hired as CEO of Bonnier’s digital-publishing platform company Mag+. The Technology Group includes Bonnier’s iconic brand Popular Science along with Popular Photography, American Photo and Sound + Vision.

“With our tech brands at the forefront of the digital boom in publishing, Steve is the natural pick to lead this group,” said Snow. “He has played a prominent and influential role in the highly significant advertising gains for these titles in the digital space.”

During Grune’s tenure, first as Group Director of Sales & Marketing and most recently as Group Publisher, digital revenue has soared 125 percent over the past two years. In fact, Popular Science+ for the iPad is one of the world’s top-grossing magazine apps on the iTunes store.

“Collectively, our brands have been industry leaders in delivering great content across multiple media platforms,” said Grune. “The Bonnier Technology Group’s focus on ‘The Future Now’ applies to both consumers and marketers. With each new delivery system for our excellent editorial content, we are building an audience of desirable and engaged consumers and providing stronger connectivity solutions for our marketing partners.”

Grune joined Bonnier in 2010 following nearly a decade at Hearst Corp., where he served as Vice President and Publisher of Country Living. Previously, Grune was the publisher of Midwest Living at Meredith Corp., as well as the Associate Publisher of Redbook. Earlier in his career, he was Advertising Director at Parents magazine.

Hano will remain an advisor to Bonnier Corp. in the evolving tablet landscape.
