New York, N.Y. — The Fifth Annual Saveur Summer BBQ — which offered up globally inspired dishes from more than 15 of the country’s hottest chefs, specialty drinks, beer, music and more — was the outdoor dining experience of the summer. With more than 800 guests in attendance and over 120 more on a waiting list, Saveur sold a record number of consumer tickets by selling tickets on for the first time via its new partnership with Eventbrite and continued relationship with Gilt City NY. As a result, ticket-sale revenue increased by more than 170 percent compared to last year’s event. The Saveur Summer BBQ was held at the Boat Basin Café, alongside the Hudson River, on June 24.


Among the event’s featured chefs were several celebrity chefs, including Amanda Freitag from Chopped and Empire Diner; Kerry Heffernan from Top Chef Masters; Dale Talde from Top Chef and Talde; Justin Devillier from Top Chef and La Petite Grocery; and more.
