New York, N.Y. — Erica Duecy has been named Digital Director at Saveur, it was announced today by David Ritchie, Chief Content Officer, Bonnier Corp. Her appointment is effective Sept. 2nd.


Erica is an award-winning writer and editor specializing in wine and spirits, food, and travel. She comes to Saveur from Fodor’s Travel where she was the Deputy Web Editor, programming travel content for more than five million readers per month. During her tenure, Duecy helped propel traffic and user engagement to record-breaking levels. At the same time, her editorial programs drove to win two SATW Lowell Thomas Journalism Awards in 2012, for best online travel journalism site and for best travel journalism blog.


“We could not be more excited for Erica to join the Saveur team,” said Ritchie. “Her experience in the food, travel, wine and spirits categories partnered with her terrific editing and digital skills makes her the most qualified person for this role.”


Duecy is also the author of STORIED SIPS (Random House, 2013), a book about the people and places behind the world’s most iconic cocktails.


She is a long-time judge for the James Beard Journalism Awards and holds an advanced certificate, with distinction, from the London-based Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET). Duecy teaches cocktail party classes at the Institute for Culinary Education and develops cocktail recipes for spirits brands. She has written for The New York Times and Food & Wine, and enjoys speaking about cocktail trends and history at events, including Tales of the Cocktail and the Manhattan Cocktail Classic.
