New York, NY (April 3, 2019) — Katie Belloff, Chuck Squatriglia, and John Kennedy are joining Popular Science, it was announced today by Joe Brown, Editor in Chief.
Katie Belloff has been named Art Director of Popular Science. She comes to the brand from creative agency M Booth, where she was a designer on their publishing team for clients including Tinder, Quartz, and others. Prior to that, she was the Associate Art Director and Production Manager at Footwear Plus and Earnshaw’s Magazine. She has a BFA from Rutgers University and studied at New York’s School of Visual Arts, and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. Her appointment is effective April 17.
Chuck Squatriglia has been named Senior Editor at Popular Science, where he will focus on long-form content, working under Features Editor Susan Murcko. Prior to Popular Science, he spent 10 years at Wired and more than seven years at The San Francisco Chronicle, before working for CNN Money (now CNN Business). He has a B.A. in Journalism from Texas A&M University and resides in Oakland, California. His appointment is effective April 15.
John Kennedy has been named DIY Editor at Popular Science. Kennedy previously covered construction law for Law360, and local news for the Journal Inquirer in Connecticut. He’s a graduate of the University of Connecticut where he holds a B.A. in English–Journalism. He also holds an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University’s School of Journalism, and currently resides in New York, New York. His appointment is effective immediately.
