Winter Park, Fla. — Laura Walker has been named Group Publisher, Dive & Travel, it was announced by Matt Hickman, VP, Director of Brand Strategies for Bonnier Corp.’s Active Interest Network. Walker previously led the travel team, and prior to that spent 16 years leading digital media efforts in the dive industry for Scuba Diving and Sport Diver.

Additionally, the dive and travel divisions are being restructured into one strategic business unit that will report to Walker. Combining the destination-based nature of the two groups will improve efficiency in destination-focused audience opportunity, products/services capability and execution. As one strategic business unit, the teams will be able to more effectively connect destination-based partners with the total audience of enthusiast travelers.

“Aligning our sales teams and content teams across the dive and travel brands means more opportunity for our broad base of travel-based marketing partners to reach and engage with our total audience of enthusiast travelers,” Hickman said. “Laura will leverage her extensive background in digital products and services, proven leadership ability and forward thinking to develop digital solutions for our customers.”

With a combined audience of more than 1.1 million, the Bonnier Dive Group has grown 18 percent year over year. By combining forces with the Bonnier Travel Group, the brands represent a total audience reach of more than 2.5 million.
