Winter Park, Fla. — Boating Editor-in-Chief Kevin Falvey has been promoted to Editorial Director of Boating and the Watersports brands, it was announced by Shawn Bean, Editorial Director of Bonnier Corp.’s Active Interest Network. To maximize the overlap — in both audience and advertisers — among Boating, WaterSki and Wakeboarding, Falvey will serve as the key axis point for content execution beyond the branded silos.
Falvey has been the Editor-in-Chief of Boating for the past four years, and with the brand for 17 years.
“Thanks to his extensive in-market knowledge, collaboration with sales and marketing, and effective use of content channels beyond print, Kevin has helped Boating become one of the Active Interest Network’s most successful brands, as exemplified by the Editor of the Year and Brand of the Year nods at the 2015 Bonnier Excellence Awards,” said Bean.
In addition, Brian Daugherty has been promoted to Senior Digital Editor of Boating and the Watersports brands. Most recently, Daugherty handled digital content for both Yachting and Boating. In his new role, Daugherty will help drive Boating‘s digital and social strategy and performance, and support the digital efforts of the Watersports brands.
Emily Dale recently joined the team as the new Digital Editor of Wakeboarding and WaterSki. While attending Rollins College, she was the Team Manager of the Wakeboarding Club and an intern at Wakeboarding. Since then, she’s worked for GlideSoul Waterwear and served as Social Media Manager and Contributing Editor at WakeWorld.com.
