New York, N.Y. — Bonnier Corp. announced the promotion of Elizabeth Burnham Murphy to the newly created position of Chief Marketing Officer for its Men’s Group, which includes Popular Science, Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, Popular Photography, American Photo, Cycle World and SHOT Business. Burnham Murphy was Associate Publisher of Marketing and Online Services for Bonnier’s Outdoor Group.


“Liz is constantly driving toward the ethic of constant improvement for our brands and our businesses,” said Bonnier Executive Vice President Eric Zinczenko. “Under her leadership, we will ensure our marketing efforts across the group are operating to the highest standard.”

Burnham Murphy joined the Field & Stream and Outdoor Life brands close to 15 years ago and has held several positions within the team. In recent years she has worked to expand client and audience offerings by organically building out brand extensions and striking strategic partnerships in the areas of events, licensing, content distribution, mobile and television. In 2009, she was promoted to her most recent position.


While head of the Outdoor Group, Burnham Murphy worked to build the group’s award-winning portfolio of integrated marketing franchises, which include Field & Stream‘s Heroes of Conservation, Field & Stream‘s Total Outdoorsman, Field & Stream Rut Reporters, Outdoor Life Record Quest and more than 20 others. She is credited with creating the partnerships for the production and distribution of three full-length Field & Stream-branded cable television series. Working with Bonnier’s corporate partners, Burnham Murphy has grown new revenue opportunities for the brands through licensing opportunities, including the 2012 launch of the Outdoor Life apparel line in Sears stores across the country. Under her leadership, she led the marketing unit to nine integrated marketing award wins from Media Industry News, including being named MIN‘s 2012 Marketing Team of the Year.
