Bonnier Promotes Eric Zinczenko to Head Newly Formed Menís Group

New York, N.Y. ó Bonnier Corp. CEO Terry Snow announced today the promotion of Eric Zinczenko to Executive Vice President of the company's newly formed Bonnier Men's Group. This group combines iconic brands Popular Science and Field & Stream under one unit along with Outdoor Life, Popular Photography, American Photo, Cycle World and SHOT Business. Zinczenko previously was Vice President/Group Publisher overseeing the outdoor titles.

"We felt the timing was right to position our men's titles together," Snow said. "Popular Science, Field & Stream, Outdoor Life and the other brands in this new group represent the largest audience of men across our company, and they continue to help set the pace in multichannel offerings for clients. Marketers looking to reach men will benefit from this new operating unit."

"I couldn't be more thrilled with having Eric lead this new group. Since 2006, he has successfully steered his group while posting strong results, and he understands the men's market and goes for the big idea, creating new revenue platforms where others might not. His insight and recent successes in digital, social and new events will help elevate all the brands in this new unit."

"Forming the new Bonnier Men's Group is another example of Bonnier's continued focus on creating 'client first' solutions," Zinczenko said. "Our client and agency partners will now have the ability to effectively reach over 30 million men in every DMA across five high-profile media brands with great efficiency. I look forward to working with Steve Grune (Vice President, Group Publisher of the tech brands) and his team as we assemble this new group."

Zinczenko joined Bonnier's Outdoor Group in January 2006, and he and his staff have overseen tremendous growth from the brands since. He has been responsible for extending the brands outside of a traditional media operation to a fully integrated multichannel media group. He's credited with signing a number of highly profitable strategic partnerships for his brands. In 2011, he helped the company acquire Hearst's Cycle World.

To date, under Zinczenko's leadership, the Bonnier Outdoor Group has won six awards for integrated marketing from MIN and 13 ASME nominations for editorial excellence, including Field & Stream's 2009 ASME General Excellence Award, publishing's highest honor. In 2010, the editorial excellence of the brand carried over to fieldandstream.com as the digital property was nominated for General Excellence in digital media.

Prior to joining Bonnier, Zinczenko had successful sales-management positions with Outside, The New Yorker, Bicycling and Scuba Diving. Zinczenko started his career at Rodale, becoming ad director of Bicycling at age 26. In 2008, Zinczenko was inducted into MIN's Sales Executive of the Year Hall of Fame for his contributions to and success in publishing.
