Marlin Magazine Expands Editorial Staff — Scott Shane Named Editor-in-Chief
July 12, 2011 Winter Park, Fla. — Marlin has announced the addition of Scott Shane as editor-in-chief, bolstering an already talented staff that serves big-game blue-water anglers. In addition to his editorial work on several top magazines, Shane's diverse industry background will boost the brand's expansion into new ventures, including furthering digital properties.

Ferrell will continue to run the highly successful Marlin University program while also hosting several high-profile television shows. Peter B. Wright, one of the world's foremost captains and a longtime contributor to both Marlin and Marlin University, will continue in his role as editor at large. Shane brings to Marlin more than 20 years of editorial experience, including work at Fishing World, Big Game Journal and Yachting, where he wrote dozens of boat tests and was responsible for sport fishing and marine power segments of the magazine. He also contributed to Power & Motoryacht's annual tournament guide. In his career, Shane launched an outdoors magazine and sold ad space before launching his own yacht brokerage firm in the Northeast, which he still owns. His varied perspectives and relationships in the industry will prove valuable as Marlin continues to expand its brand.
