Lisa Singer Moran Named Editor-in-Chief of Babytalk


New York, NY – Bonnier Corp.'s Parenting Group announced today that Lisa Singer Moran has been appointed editor-in-chief of Babytalk magazine.   Moran succeeds Susan Kane, who was named editorial director of The Parenting Group and editor-in-chief of Parenting magazine last month.  In her new role, Moran will oversee all editorial and online content development for Babytalk and its siblings Babytalk Mom-to-Be and Babytalk First Months.

 

Moran was most recently executive editor of Time Out New York Kids, and had previously been the executive editor of Babytalk from 2004 through 2007.  She began her career with The Parenting Group in 2000, when she joined Babytalk as Senior Health Editor. 

"Lisa's unique approach to providing moms with the most helpful service and smart, honest advice has always resonated so powerfully with Babytalk readers," said Susan Kane, editorial director of The Parenting Group.  "I'm thrilled to have her back on The Parenting Group team, and am certain that Babytalk will soar to new heights under her leadership."

Moran's work for Babytalk has been honored with a National Magazine Award for personal service from the American Society of Magazine Editors in 2005, a National Magazine Award nomination in 2002, and the Time Inc. Henry R. Luce Award for articles in the category of public service.

Prior to joining Babytalk, Moran worked in editorial positions at Glamour and New Woman magazines. She is also a co-author of The Cooking Club Cookbook: 6 friends show you how to bake, broil, and bond, (Random House/Villard; 2002) and The Cooking Club Party Cookbook: 6 friends show you how to dine, drink, and dish (Random House/Villard; 2003). She has appeared on TODAY, The Oprah Winfrey Show and the Fine Living Network, among others.  

Moran is a graduate of Princeton University and lives in Manhattan with her husband and their toddler son.  She is expecting their second child this summer.
