Jake Bogoch Promoted to Editor of Skiing
March 13, 2008
Boulder, Colo. – It's the publishing equivalent of two feet of fresh: Skiing magazine has promoted Jake Bogoch to editor. An award-winning writer, Bogoch has worked on ski magazines for more than 10 years, the last two as senior editor for Skiing. In addition to Bogoch's promotion, Skiing is blanketing itself with a new look and feel to deliver the ultimate magazine for dedicated skiers. "Jake is the kind of skier you'd want to ski with. He's the guy who will unlock the secrets of the mountain and take you to the best spot to have a drink at the end of the day," says Tom James, editorial director. "The new Skiing magazine will reflect Jake's knowledge of the sport and his willingness to share it." Bogoch will preside over a new photo-driven design and larger paper size for Skiing that will showcase the world's best ski photography and the culture of the sport. Readers can expect these exciting changes in the next issue, September '08. "I've been a skier and reading ski magazines since I was a kid," says Bogoch. "To take the helm of this iconic, 60-year-old brand is a lifelong dream come true and a big job. For anyone who knew me during my half-decade as a ski bum, the irony should be unbearable." Skiing is published six times a year by Bonnier Corp. and offers information, advice and fresh perspectives on the lifestyle of young-thinking, active skiers Bonnier Corp. (www.bonniercorp.com) is one of the largest consumer-publishing groups in the United States and is the leading media company serving passionate, highly engaged audiences, with more than 40 special-interest magazines plus related multimedia projects and events. |
