Folio Magazine Honors Field & Stream


New York, N.Y. – Field & Stream was a big winner at last week's Eddie and Ozzie Awards, presented by FOLIO:. The magazine brought home a gold medal for excellence in design and two silver medals for editorial excellence.  Winners were unveiled in Chicago at the annual FOLIO: Show's Eddie and Ozzie Awards.

According to FOLIO:, "The Eddie and Ozzie Awards recognize excellence in magazine editorial and design, and this year's competition drew more than 2,800 entries. More than 100 expert judges spent weeks evaluating the entries and selecting the winners.  The Eddie and Ozzie awards are the largest awards competition in magazine publishing."

Field & Stream was awarded a gold Ozzie for "Best Consumer Redesign" for their March 2008 issue. The magazine's redesign, spearheaded by Field & Stream Art Director Neil Jamieson, included a new streamlined look with a cleaner, shaper layout as well as the addition of the new front of the book section, "Campfire." The March issue was the first under Field & Stream editor Anthony Licata.

Field & Stream was also lauded for its editorial excellence with two Eddie Awards.  They came home with a silver in the "Consumer, Sports, Full Issue" category for the December 2007 issue as well as a silver in the "Consumer, Sports, Single Article" category for the March 2008 article "A Sportsman At War."
