February 21, 2008
Winter Park, Fla. – Bonnier Corporation's Islands, the world's premier magazine on island travel, has named Eddy Patricelli its new editor-in-chief. Patricelli brings years of experience to his new role, the last six as a top editor at Bonnier. "Islands is the global authority on islands destinations. I aim to apply my unique perspective to continuing the evolution of the brand in this dynamic travel market," said Patricelli. "I also want to extend our great success in print to the digital side, making not only the magazine, but also our website the first destination for our affluent, active travelers." As the editor of Bonnier's WindSurfing, Patricelli led a successful redesign of the magazine. His editorial direction and keen writing kept the magazine and its website on the pulse of its educated, adventurous and well-traveled readership "Eddy brings a fresh perspective and understands what our readers are looking for," said Carole-Ann Hayes, vice-president of publishing for the Bonnier Lifestyle and Travel titles. "He will execute Islands' editorial mission and direction to the highest standards, enhancing our voice as the magazine for the ultimate traveler looking for the ultimate escape." Patricelli is eager to take readers to those escapes. "I'm looking forward to covering the remote, exotic, unknown places that our magazine is known for illuminating in such interesting ways." Islands is published eight times a year. It seeks out the essence of what makes islands so alluring, taking readers on adventures they have always dreamed of and giving them the tools to help them live those dreams. |
