Chris Tauber Promoted to Group Brand Director of Bonnier’s Travel & Lifestyle Group
July 20, 2010 Winter Park, Fla. — Chris Tauber, who has been spearheading Islands magazine's digital efforts with multiple iPhone apps and its upcoming iPad launch, has been promoted to the newly created position of Group Brand Director, overseeing several Bonnier travel brands. The announcement was made by Sue Gilman, group publisher of the travel and lifestyle group.
Tauber has been the brand manager of Islands for the past 2½ years, after serving as senior writer and then editorial director of Bonnier's water sports group. Before moving with his family to Florida in 2002, he worked in New York with Parade, the National Basketball Association, the New York Times and Time Inc., managing both print and digital initiatives. At Islands, Tauber has helped foster teamwork to enhance content for the award-winning magazine and to create new opportunities for digital brand extensions. "We've learned a lot together at Islands, and it's exciting to bring that cooperation across the group," he says. "The iPad launch of Islands' November issue is also a great example of the editorial team collaborating from the idea phase with the business, marketing and development teams.
