Since joining the group, Zinczenko has turned events into a profit center and more than doubled the group's revenue from integrated programs. He is also credited with signing a number of highly profitable strategic partnerships for his group, including a multi-year deal with the Outdoor Channel and a recent videogaming deal with 505 Games. Zinczenko began his career in publishing in 1992 at Rodale, where he was a sales representative for Scuba Diving. At age 24, he was promoted to Ad Director of Bicycling magazine and then Associate Publisher a year later. In 1999, after a successful sales position with the New Yorker, Zinczenko joined Outside magazine, where he directed the Eastern sales effort and exceeded his 1999 objective by 227 percent. After four years of often triple-digit revenue growth, Zinczenko rejoined Rodale as VP/Publisher of Backpacker to help rebuild the 31-year-old title. |
